8-Hour In-Depth Webinar: The New Tax Law 2.0

$99 Credit if you bought the 1/4/18 webinar; $149 credit if you attended the 2018 Advanced Strategies Conference

8 hours (4 two-hour blocks)

What we’ve learned since January 4th:  This thing is evolving!

Extensive Q&A (John is $400 per hour if you call his office) – I am getting TONS of questions on the new law in my tax practice.  Here’s a chance to get answers to most questions off-the-clock.

Two for the Price of One:  This presentation will be with both tax attorney/accountant/investor John Hyre and very experienced investor & nationally renowned teacher Dyches Boddiford.  Dyches has forgotten more about REI over the last 40 years than John has seen over the last 20 – and is so thorough that he is one of the few non-attorneys John will listen to on taxes & asset protection.  This presentation is essentially an online version of the first day of the SOLD-OUT Advanced Strategies Conference that we presented in Atlanta in late January of 2018.  We packed 220 people into the room – and turned away over 100 due to lack of space.  This is your chance to hear what they missed!

– Loopholes & Strategies for the Real Estate Investor–

The new tax law spells huge savings for real estate investors.  There are a few traps to watch for, but the law is mostly about major tax cuts – if you know what to look for.

John Hyre and Dyches Boddiford are presenting a 4-session webinar to cover what every investor and business person needs to know about the new tax law. This is information very specific to the real estate investor and business entrepreneur that you need NOW to enjoy tax savings starting in 2018.  Failure to understand the law and plan NOW could easily cost you tens of thousands of dollars in 2018.

Beginning in 2018, many entrepreneurs can slash up to 30% off their taxes with the new Pass-Thru Deduction.  And that’s just ONE of the new tax breaks we’ll cover!  At first glance the rules are confusing. But we’ll break them down & apply them to the following businesses:

  • Rentals

  • AirBNB

  • Rehab & Retail

  • Assignment/Wholesaling

  • Lending

  • Services (e.g. – Realtors, Contractors, Professionals, etc.)

We will discuss the best way to structure your entities to take advantage of the new laws. This is something you need to do in 2018, not wait to a later tax year.

Entity Issues to Cover:

  • When S-Corporations make sense (it has changed)

  • When C-Corporations make sense (it has changed a lot)

  • C-Corporation Traps – What that Nice Man from Nevada did not tell you

  • When “normal” LLC’s make sense (it has changed a bit)

  • Specific structures for the businesses described above

  • Review of Oldies But Goodies:

    • When do Nevada/Wyoming/Delaware entities make sense – and when do they not?

    • How many entities to have (NOT one per property in John’s opinion)?

    • Key steps to maintaining these entities

    • Management/Admin Companies (aka “Satellite C-Corps”)

Before & After this Webinar John will charge $400/hour to answer these questions – and his calendar is quite full with people who are happy to pay!  On the webinar questions cost you nothing beyond the fixed cost of admission.

WRITE OFF (That is DEDUCT RIGHT NOW) 15% of the cost of rentals acquired after September 27th, 2017.  You read correctly:  The tax rules allow you to take a deduction of roughly 15% of the cost of rental properties even if they are not new!  Buy a property for $100,000, take a deduction of $15,000…..if you know how.  We will cover this topic in detail.

We’ll walk through:

  • Who this helps, and who shouldn’t bother

  • How being a “Real Estate Professional” allows you to use this trick to knock down your non-rental income (slash taxes on your W-2)

  • IRS rules for valuing the rental and its various “parts” to make the most of this rule

We will also cover the other changes in the tax law, including:

  • New brackets

  • New rules for kids & tax benefits

  • Big changes to your personal tax return

  • Which deductions went away – and how to get them back

  • Which tax-breaks were cut & which ones survived

Here are just some of the questions that will be answered.

  • Are regular rental activities reported on Schedule E eligible for the huge Pass-Thru Deduction?

  • Can a home office deduction be taken on Schedule E for rental real estate?

  • How to play the “C-Corporation Arbitrage” Game?

  • How should lending be structured to take advantage of the valuable Pass-Thru Deduction?

  • What is meant by S Corp shareholder compensation? Does it include wages paid to the shareholder by the S Corp? How about other wages and benefits?

  • When does a C Corp. make more sense than an S Corp. for tax savings?

  • What is the difference in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the new ‘chained’ CPI now used to adjust tax brackets each year?  And who cares?

  • When do these benefits expire?

  • What are the great new expanded expensing and depreciation deductions?

This is your opportunity to learn the loopholes and strategies found in the new tax law to save thousands in taxes for 2018. This webinar is being presented by two real estate investors who will be taking advantage of the rules immediately. Join them to gain the benefits as well!

The webinar will be presented in four sessions, each two hours in length from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The session dates are 3/15, 3/19, 3/22, and 3/26. Answers to questions emailed in will be answered on the next session. Each session will be recorded so if you cannot make a session, you can listen to it later.

About Dyches: Dyches Boddiford grew up on a farm in rural South Georgia, 10 miles from the small town of Sylvania.Though he was not too interested in farming, he took every chance to learn about construction, wiring and plumbing. He had an interest in science from an early age that was recognized and encouraged by several teachers. After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1973 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics and a Masters in Information & Computer Science, Dyches spent some time in Corporate America before buying his first investment property in 1980. By 1991, he began working full time in his real estate investments and in 1992 earned more than he had working for his old employer.
A past president of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association (GaREIA), Dyches has been a national speaker on the topic of real estate investments and entity strategies for over 20 years. Dyches has remained a full-time real estate investor, and he feels that only by being active in real estate investing can he bring real world experience to his classes and materials.

About John: John Hyre is a tax attorney and real estate investor out of Columbus, Ohio. Over 95% of his clients are real estate investors and he saves them millions annually.
